Rules for organizers and attendees to ensure meaningful experiences
Important Notice
These guidelines are designed to create a positive environment for all users of Olukhanaa. Violation of these guidelines may result in removal of content, suspension of accounts, or other actions as deemed necessary.
For Organizers
Do's
Provide accurate event details
Ensure all information about your event is accurate, including date, time, location, and what attendees can expect.
Communicate changes promptly
If any details of your event change, notify attendees as soon as possible through the platform.
Clearly state refund policies
Clearly communicate your refund policy before tickets are purchased, including conditions and deadlines.
Respect attendee privacy
Handle attendee data with care and in accordance with privacy laws. Only use contact information for event-related communications.
Respond to inquiries timely
Aim to respond to attendee questions and concerns within 48 hours.
Don'ts
Promote illegal activities
Events must comply with all applicable laws and regulations.
Misrepresent your event
Don't use misleading images, descriptions, or false claims to attract attendees.
Discriminate against attendees
Events must not discriminate based on race, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, or other protected characteristics.
Cancel without notice
Avoid last-minute cancellations. If unavoidable, communicate immediately with attendees.
Event Cancellation
If your event must be cancelled:
- • Notify attendees at least 48 hours in advance if possible
- • Process refunds via M-Pesa/bank within 7 days
- • Provide a clear explanation for the cancellation
- • Offer alternatives or future discounts when appropriate
For Attendees
Do's
Respect venue rules
Follow all rules set by the venue and event organizers, including prohibited items and behavior.
Arrive on time
Plan to arrive at the event at the specified time. Some events may not allow late entry.
Bring required identification
Have your ticket and any required ID ready for verification at entry.
Report issues appropriately
If you encounter problems at an event, report them to event staff or security personnel.
Don'ts
Engage in disruptive behavior
Behavior that disrupts the event or makes others uncomfortable is not acceptable.
Resell tickets at inflated prices
Ticket scalping is against our terms of service and may be illegal in some jurisdictions.
Share tickets inappropriately
Don't share your ticket barcodes or QR codes online, as they can be copied and used by others.
Bring prohibited items
Check the event details for a list of prohibited items before attending.
If Event Cancelled
If an event you're attending is cancelled:
- • You'll receive a refund notification
- • Automatic reversal to M-Pesa/bank account will be processed
- • Refunds typically take 5-7 business days to appear in your account
- • Contact support if you don't receive your refund within 10 days
General Policies
Safety
Safety is our top priority. All events listed on Olukhanaa must have appropriate safety measures in place. Event organizers are responsible for ensuring their events comply with local safety regulations, including fire codes, capacity limits, and emergency procedures.
Attendees should familiarize themselves with emergency exits and follow all safety instructions provided by event staff. If you notice any safety concerns at an event, please report them immediately to event security or staff.
Inclusivity
Olukhanaa is committed to promoting inclusive events that welcome people of all backgrounds. We encourage event organizers to consider accessibility needs and to create environments where all attendees feel respected and valued.
Discrimination, harassment, or hate speech will not be tolerated at any events listed on our platform. We reserve the right to remove any event that violates these principles of inclusivity and respect.
Content Guidelines
All content posted on Olukhanaa, including event descriptions, images, and promotional materials, must be appropriate and respectful. Content that is offensive, misleading, or violates the rights of others will be removed.
Event organizers should ensure they have the necessary rights to use any images or content in their event listings. Attendees should respect copyright and privacy when sharing photos or videos from events.
Dispute Resolution
In the event of a dispute between organizers and attendees, Olukhanaa encourages direct communication to resolve issues. If a resolution cannot be reached, our support team can help mediate.
For serious violations of our guidelines or terms of service, please contact our support team with relevant details and documentation. We will investigate and take appropriate action as needed.
Enforcement of Guidelines
Olukhanaa takes these guidelines seriously and works to ensure they are followed by all users of our platform. Violations may result in:
